Airports have evolved beyond simple transportation hubs. Today, they are commercial centers comprised of service businesses, suppliers and retailers. Dealing with security issues, air and ground management of endless traffic up in the air as well as on the ground requires adequate technology and professional operators. AGM Team experts have the know-how and expertise from the design stage to operations, security, air traffic and logistic support.

ACCESS CONTROL

Airport security needs and legislation requirements change over time. Such changes mainly affect access control, which is compromised of systems, hardware, software and procedures concerning various aspects, from passenger flow to access permissions of employees and asset movement in all airports facilities.

The access control aspect is one of the most crucial, for both airport security and airport efficiency and thus defines the standards on all airport levels.

Access control components are a combination of several systems, aiming for the purpose of full control over airport ground movements of employees, passengers, vehicles and related assets.

SAFETY

Air navigation service providers (ANSPs) require a surveillance solution capable of addressing the serious risk of runway incursions and ground vehicle surveillance in critical areas. GSA – Ground Surveillance Automation – provides surveillance of aircrafts and ground vehicles required for surface movement surveillance as well as advanced-surface movement guidance and control systems (A- SMGCS) to ensure safe and efficient operations at any airport. A-SMGCS combines mature multi-alteration technology with Surface Movement Radar (SMR). A-SMGCS provides enhancements for low visibility operations as well as for day-to-day operations by increasing safety and capacity.

Security Bollards, Arm Barriers, Wedge Barriers, Under-vehicle Inspection Systems are all part of a large variety of anti-terror protection systems for secured compounds, and, along with secured identity management for vehicles and personnel, are aimed at achieving maximum security with minimum flow effect. This will be achieved only with correct operational methods of security personnel.

In order to optimize passenger flow, the use of systems and software is not nearly enough. The full optimization process will include methodological operations of the system in a way that will allow the efficient processing of people and goods, and will detect and stop criminals and CBRN threats. Training and methodology implementation is important in order to ensure the fast and smooth flow of the 99.9% of the passengers that pose no threat.

In order to ensure passenger safety, by subjecting passengers and luggage through efficient, non-intrusive scanning methods, the use of systems such as the Public Announcement System (PA) and multilingual evacuation control are all contained in a single management interface.

UNIFIED MANAGEMENT PLATFORM

Identity management software provides the ability to control all aspects of access security elements, physical security, surveillance tools, entrance permits, etc. The system allows various interfaces and permit combinations, and different vendors and security providers, such as modular system providers, the ability to change and to flexibly adapt to new requirements. The system features several integrated modules such as a multi-biometric authentication platform, unified GUI for easier administration and control and a real-time situation management interface.

AIR TRAFFIC AND SURVAILLANCE

AGM has partnered with several of the leading companies manufacturing AIR surveillance and management systems in order to design and develop a unique solution that will track and manage your airspace in order to ensure air safety.

Our OEM radar systems are deployed in over 25 countries, along with ATM systems, allowing for radar controls which are operational and successfully implemented in the busiest airports.

RADARS

State-of-the-art radar systems and technologies. The main systems are Primary Surveillance Radar, Monopulse Secondary Radar and fully solid-state Precision Approach Radar. All radars meet or exceed EUROCONTROL and ICAO recommendations and standards.

The AGM team provides a complex solution of requirements and demands by customers in the radiolocation domain. The experienced team of professionals ensures the implementation of problem analysis, realization studies, project management, development of circuits and software, electrical and mechanical design and performance tests, and equipment installation as well.

ATM – AIR TRAFFIC MANAGMENT

By acting as the prime contractor and system architect, AGM helps with removing the burden of multiple procurements by providing Global Solutions for the whole ATM system, including navigation systems, ILS and DME, ATC and ground control, ASM and all requirements set by the ICAO in order to ensure autonomous flights and situation awareness of your air space in order to avoid collisions and ensure safety.

AERODROME SAFETY & REGULATIONS

AERODOME safety and security standards are defined by ICAO and are mandatory for international airports. Such standards should be considered when designing and planning new airports and/or upgrading existing airports.

SIGNS & MARKINGS

Direct damage to aircrafts caused by FOD is estimated to cost the aviation industry over $4 billion every year.

Advanced runway sensor solutions are available in order to manage runways more efficiently, and feel confident that the runways are safe, secure and clear for operations.

RF jammers are essential in EOD threat environments. AGM offers fully designed solutions for any spectrum of threats, for either portable or  mounted jamming systems.

Man-packed or vehicle mounted for VIP convoy, state-of-the-art jammers allow digital control of frequency bands with output strength depending on need.

With the expected growth in air transportation, our challenge is to make greater efforts and adopt new measures to continue improving aviation safety. The use of Safety Management Systems (SMS) at airports can contribute to this effort by helping airports detect and correct safety problems before they result in aircraft accidents or incidents.

Marking and sign of aerodromes is crucial both for air and ground safety. The installation of signs on airport runways and taxiways, lighting systems and marking for ground movement has to meet required standards.

GROUND CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT

Air navigation service providers (ANSPs) require a surveillance solution capable of addressing the serious risk of runway incursions and ground vehicle surveillance in critical areas. GSA – Ground Surveillance Automation – provides surveillance of aircrafts and ground vehicles required for surface movement surveillance as well as advanced surface movement guidance and control systems (A- SMGCS) to ensure safe and efficient operations at any airport. A-SMGCS combines mature multi-alteration technology with Surface Movement Radar (SMR). A-SMGCS provides enhancement for low visibility operations as well as for day-to-day operations by increasing safety and capacity.

The system features allow:

  • Real-time control over mobile assets
  • Enhanced map layering
  • Rule based alert engine (Traffic/Safety violations)
  • Operational decision making
  • Debriefing capabilities
  • Display data from GSE sensors

METEOROLOGY SOLUTIONS

Weather affects both the safety and the efficiency of many of the most central functions in airport operations. Having real-time, accurate and reliable weather information at hand, in easily understandable format through intuitive user interfaces for all different users at the airport, is of vital importance to cope with these weather related challenges.

Weather solutions are carefully selected to ensure safety and ICAO compatibility and cost effectiveness, AGM has partnered with experts who have, for years, provided such solutions for aviation management.

PERIPHERAL AND TERMINAL SECURITY

The challenges facing today’s airport security decision makers become ever more complex, as additional processes traditionally outside of their scope of responsibility have to be considered. These include passenger flow management, higher capacity aircrafts, differing passenger security classification criteria, legislative compliance and the increasing pressure of operational uptime and profitability.

The implementation of any comprehensive security policy usually involves a multilayered approach with the first line of defense being the surrounding airport perimeter, and inner layers, runways, the apron, ground services areas and terminals. Each of the areas is a complex of surveillance systems enabling the detection of threats by using a large array of sensors, optical, radar and RF, for threats by using automated analytic systems, which enable alarms and prevention in order to maintain a constant state of vigilance, ensuring the security of aircrafts and associated assets.

Modern airport security is a complex and dynamic subject, but, with the support of the right security solution provider, the most effective solution is more accessible than ever. AGM Airport experts and partners possess the necessary knowledge, global reach and project experience required to meet the demands of today’s airports.
